Hey linus community i am building a new c with 3 or 2 gtx 980's. im just not sure what i should do with the diplay port cables. should i have 1 display port cable coming out of each graphics card to there own monitor or should i have 3 diplay port cables coming out of the same gpu to 3 different monitors. would i just connect it with an sli bridge?

thanks

Some 970's and I think all/most 980's have three DP outputs - if you have one of these just use a single card

Sim Rig:  Valve Index - Acer XV273KP - 5950x - GTX 2080ti - B550 Master - 32 GB ddr4 @ 3800c14 - DG-85 - HX1200 - 360mm AIO

This might be helpful:

For straight SLI, only the connections on the primary card are enabled. For Surround with SLI, you can use ports on the second card. Have played around with these settings on our test systems myself, so I can confirm this is the case.

Just plug into a single gpu if the card has the ports.
