This is pretty much on par specs-wise with what I'm building next month.  I'd go with a larger PSU wattage though in case you want to SLI in future or upgrade to something with a higher TDP in a couple of years.  You can probably get away with the 550W but personally I'd rather have that little bit of headroom for future-proofing.  That's just my two cents though.  But yeah I've heard very good things about Seasonic PSUs.

CPU Intel Core i7 7700K; Cooler Cryorig R1 Universal; MB Asus ROG Maximus IX Code; RAM G.Skill Trident Z 3200Mhz (4 x 8GB); GPU ASUS GTX 1080 Ti ROG Strix Gaming OC; Case Be Quiet Dark Base 900 Pro Silver; Storage Samsung 960 EVO 500GB, Samsung 850 EVO 1TB, Seagate Barracuda 4TB; PSU EVGA Supernova 850W G2; OS Windows 10; KB Corsair K70 (MX Brown); Audio O2 & ODAC, Sennheiser HD 600, Sennheiser RS 185, Swan M200MKIII; Monitors 2x Dell U2410

Seasonic is far much better than Corsair's CX PSU

You could go with a cheaper PSU like this one:

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620 (re-branded seasonic psu)

So Antec is Seasonic?

That specific HCG-620 unit is based on an entry-level platform internally from Seasonic. The S12II Bronze 620w to be exact. It belongs in the same segment as the Corsair CX; however, it is build a bit better. Since it's in the same price range, I would suggest it over the CX600.

My recommendation for your system is the Cooler Master V550S though. http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-power-supply-rs550amaag1au

CM V550S offer comparable electrical performance, slightly higher efficiency, as well as has a more quiet operation. While the Seasonic G 550w does offer better caps choices, it's also ~$20 NZD or so more expensive.

Would you go $20, for better caps and sacrifice slight silence and less efficiency. I'm not good with these decisions

I thought the CM V series were also made by Seasonic...?

I personally like my SeasoniC G-550. It's dead silent. However I would get something more costefficient like the EVGA Supernova 750 G2. That also leaves lots of headroom for a 2nd 970.

who cares...

No EVGA supernova 750 G2 in NZ

You have a similar build to mine and I asked a similar question on overclock.net a couple of weeks ago: http://www.overclock.net/t/1521666/first-build-first-psu (They have some well known PSU guys on there).

I'm going with the Cooler Master V550 (also called V550s in NZ): http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2160334

Here's a thread comparing the two: http://www.overclock.net/t/1430448/4-mid-range-psus-compared

& here are the 2 units reviewed on jonnyGuru (his reviews are good reads): CM: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=373 ; Seasonic: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=373

Both seem like top units.

The CM V series are Seasonic KM3 units, yes. But the CM VS series are Enhance Electronics.

Personally, for $20 less, I would go for the Cooler Master V550S, as it's still a solid and reliable unit.

Alternatively, you could go for the Antec True Power Classic 550w. It's essentially a Seasonic G unit internally. http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2280361

But only get this one if you don't mind deal with a few excess cables during your cable management.
