Suggestions for storage config

All I have at the moment is a 1TB WD Blue and everything is packed in there. I am looking to get an SSD for my system.

 

I won't be storing much important data, just the OS, LOTS and LOTS of games, a variety of programs and some random files. Important files will be stored somewhere else safe.

I am planning to get a single high capacity SSD to replace the hard drive and it will serve as the sole disk in the computer. The hard drive will be removed to lessen the heat inside the case and will most likely be used as a backup drive.

 

Any suggestions or comments on my plan?
