My friend just got a 970 a week ago and in bf4 he only gets around 60-70 fps when he should be getting around 90 right? I got a 7870 ghz edition and I can get 50fps and my card is way less power full than his. we looked in MSI after burner and the entire time he was playing bf4 his gpu usage was only going up to 40ish % hes got a 4690k 8gb vegeance ram.

What about the temps? That's what's most important, as the card will throttle itself if it get's too hot, though I find it unlikely that it should throttle at 60-70 fps in bf4. What kind of settings is he using, and at what resolution?

That's a bit high. These cards usually throttle down once past 80C.

Do you have a video or something about curves for his card? hes a big noob and has no idea how to do it him self.

This video seems to explain it pretty well, at least for afterburner.

EDIT:

Also, I had similar problems with GPU usage when upgrading to my 770. I ended up resinstalling both BF4 and graphics drivers and that fixed my problems (thank gaben for SSD and 100 Mbps internet)

Thanks man I will try that and post back if it works. Might be a day though

try this kind, is really silence and efficient, i know cuz is pretty silence on a gtx 480 so for 970 it would be perfect. dont try and make 100 steps.. let it on way like in the pic and the temps should control the fan the entire time.
