Hello people of the linustechtips community, I have planned out this micro-atx build that's meant to be one hell of a gamer or even an editing workstation. I would like constructive criticism on the parts that I have selected. The parts that I have selected are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Motherboard: MSI Z97M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150

Memory(RAM): Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1866

Storage(SSD): Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Storage(Mass): Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB

Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SC ACX 2.0

Case: Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: SeaSonic 660W 80+ Platinum Fully-Modular ATX

I am currently building this system, however I am waiting for some of the parts to go on sale. I already have the motherboard, cpu cooler, ram, and the power supply. What do you guys think of this build? Is it actually worth building in your opinion? If you're interested in getting the parts, here is a PCPartPicker link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Nj7FHx

I'd say switch to a motherboard that can support SLI and get an EVGA G2 750; but seeing as you already have both....

So, other than that, I'd go with a Crucial MX100 or Adata SP900 instead of the 840.

And don't get an EVGA 970

Thanks for the feedback, however I don't have the graphics card yet and I'm looking at various cards. The only reason why I chose it was because it kicked the ASUS R9 290 out of the water(I had originally chose that card). It also matches the color scheme, but I have seen many cases of the coil whine being very audible.

The ACX cooler was excellent on the 700 series, on the 900 series is fair. The Asus Strix is actually better than EVGA's ACX.

For a 970, I'd go with a:

Gigabyte G1 Gaming > MSI > Asus/Zotac. Although, I don't believe the G1 gaming will fit in a 240.

Yeah, the windforce cooler on the G1 Gaming is way too big to fit in the air 240, but if I were to get a bigger case then it wouldn't fit on my desk and I would have to re-design the pc too.
