Hi,

Im new to the forums so first i would like to say hello to all and to thank anyone who helps me with this build.

I am looking to build a computer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and just cant choose my parts, i havent built

a pc since 2010 so im alil rusty with the new generation of products, here are some guidelines i would like to follow

1. Budget is $1000 and this is for only the tower, i have a Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse already.

2. Aiming to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

3. Would like to stay AMD CPU

4. No prefers on AMD or Nvidia graphics, just something with nice cooling, only need 1 video card

5. SLI and Crossfire is a Option, would prefer to have it down the line, but NOT a must

if someone could just help me with a part list and some links that would be awesome!

if you want to get AMD, you could wait for the 8000s to come out - if it comes out.

then you can plan accordingly like purchasing the old 7000s for cheap or just get the gtx600s for cheap right now.

because that will be where your cash goes to mainly, right?

Check out the build: Used to be Obot, now Lilith

Shameless: Me

maybe something like this?

Change the case and anything by any means of course :)

Perhaps get a different GPU with 3gb of RAM for a BIT more future Proofing but any games at the moment you don't need more than 2 really...

CPU - AMD FX-8350

Motherboard - ASRock 970 Extreme4

GPU - MSI R7950 Twin Frozr or

PSU - Corsair CX600

HDD - Western Digital WD1002FAEX

RAM - 8 GB of anything cheapish

Case - Bitfenix Shinobi ATX Mid Tower

SSD - OCZ Vertex 3 60GB SSD

CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-D14

This is what I could come up with from the top of my head and hits pretty well the $1000 mark. Feel free to change parts you feel aren't worth it. I didn't include stuff like DvD/CD disc reader but that's like 15 bucks.

i wouldn't buy HDD now and get a SSD and after a while save sum and get a HDD later and i would go with a 550watt semi-modular PSU from seasonic or NZXT with there bronze cheap 550watt modular PSU than the Corsair CX600 :D but for the other parts are great choices :D

How would this work?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/14Unk

Looks ok, but where is your storage? also The HD7870 is better than the GTX 660 in comparison, I would go with at least a 660ti if you want to go nvidia and even then the HD 7870 is better at some games in benchmarking than the 660ti! so yeah see:

Price to performance wise, I would go for the HD 7870

I can't recommend a NZXT PSU looking at this post: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx

Seasonic on the other hand, sure.

No need to spend all of your budget.

Here's a cheaper alternative with a few tweaks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/156gi
