4k goodness vs wait time

I'm thinking of treating myself to a new display for Xmas. Should I wait for 4k to become as cheap as 2560x1440 is now? Or will I be waiting ages and should just buy an IPS 2560x1440?

Unfortunately not, that is a great deal £250 English moneys is great value!

Yeah i'm starting to do more and more content creation as uni goes on which is why I was planning on getting an IPS. Think 2560 for now and maybe in a year or two IPS 4k will be cheaper! thanks

A 4K TN display for content creation is not great because of the colour accuracy and TN viewing angles. An IPS 2560x1440 display would be the best option for this task as the colour accuracy is substantially better and the viewing angles are consistent with no colour shift like TN displays. If he was just playing games I'd say go for it, but for content creation it's not the recommended option.

I have a 4k monitor and it's really nice. But there are still a lot of issues with it. The light bleed is really bad and sometimes the the two sides of the panel get out of sync and cause vertical tearing.

Dell just released a new batch of 4K monitors, which are high grade and well priced (24" 60Hz IPS 4K for $600, or 27" for $700). Might be worth considering.

Yes, I really did think that you didn't know that. If the OP was wanting a monitor for mostly content creation a smart person would not go suggesting he get a TN monitor, even if it's a 4K one. And no, not everybody does know that FYI. If you'd done more research you would've known that . Maybe have a good think before giving such immature replies. Well you basically shot down my recommendation by saying a TN panel is bad for video editing. Thus, you assumed I was talking about TN when I was actually talking about IPS which would be a viable option. Also, you said something about me on your profile which wasn't very kind either.
