Do you host servers or edit video/stream or run towards 20 applications at the same time? Thats the only reasons i can see for 16 gb RAM.
For gaming and media consuming 8gb is enough.
What will use for storage?

Use PCpartpicker and plan the rig in it, It will be easier to see the prices and get a overview on the rig that way.

To be honest, I go over 8GB a lot while just using Chrome, listening to music and watching videos type stuff. 8GB is a minimum, but 16GB is good if you have the money to spare for it IMO.

PSU is overkill unless you plan on going with SLI in the future.

Knowing what the rig will be used for will help a lot.

Only thing worth questioning is the PSU. The GTX 970 only needs a good 500W PSU so I'd recommend a good 550 or 600W 80+ Gold rated PSU.

CPU, MOBO, RAM and GPU are nice and they'll look good in the 450D side window.

If you want an SSD, I'd suggest a 120GB minimum, 250GB recommended. It's not worth keeping many games on an SSD so you should either get an SSHD or a HDD for your games and data.

Personally I have a 250GB SSD for my OS and software, an SSHD for my games and HDDs for everything else.

Currently I have 12GB. I don't need 16 but I had a hard time finding 12GB tbh, I would have to buy 3 sticks of 4GB. I mean I didn't search the internet for hours but it seemed mostly like sticks were either coming in packs of two 4gb sticks or two 8 GB sticks. I wanted to get 12, so if I wanted to do that I would need to buy two packs of 4GB sticks...then I would have 1 left over so I would be going 16 anyways...so I figured I would just buy two 8 GB sticks.

Well I might be going SLI in the future, would be dual GTX970s. Yeah was thinking about a 250GB SSD and a 2TB HDD.
