How to adjust cpu fan?

So i have a Asus vii hero mobo and i'm trying to adjust my cpu fan header to full load. i can adjust the other fans just fine "you can hear them ramp up" but when i try to adjust the cpu fans nothing happens. I have a kraken x61 hooked up to that header with 2 Noctua Ippc 2k fans.

 

Am i missing something here?

I think the problem is that there is a predetermined setting for your fans that are plugged into the cpu header. (it may be in the bios, or perhaps in AI suite, i think that comes with asus boards) 

Or perhaps there isn't enough power, but i don't think that's the case. 

I may be every wrong here, but that's the first thing that came to mind

From my experience with Asus boards, they don't really let you control the fan speed of the cpu header with ai suite.I think you may have to go through the bios to change the fan speed.
