Hello LTT,

I'm currently writing a report on "How LCD Monitors Work" and have attended a talk on liquid crystals and have been doing some reading and surfing the internet about the topic. I have now come to you, as I'm using these forums as another resource for contributing towards my report, for what you know.

I've begun my report but in the meanwhile I would like to know how a voltage is applied to the liquid crystals in a pixel to determine whether the pixel is either on or off, any particular graphs regarding the topic (such as how voltage varies with the extent to which the liquid crystals orientate) or how information is sent from a computer to regulate how the pixels should switch colour.

I appreciate all helpful contributions and I look forward to discussing about it :)

N.B. Responses from people who can actually share their own knowledge is greatly welcomed!

Thanks! Although I am trying to branch out what type of resources I use (forums here!) and the fact that wikipedia the go-to site for school research it doesn't show much in terms of where I have looked. However, that doesn't mean it doesn't have the information so I will pick out the useful parts.
