Setting Power Options To High Performance ?

Ok I saw a comment on youtube saying this helps with frame rates. I've done this and I think it has, but I was wondering if anyone else can confirm it. . . On Bioshock Infinate I was getting 40 - 50 on ultra and now I'm 50 - 60

Uhh, what? You saw a comment on YouTube saying that if you put your power options to high performance, you'll get better frame rates? Are we talking about BIOS settings? If yes, some motherboards allow you to select the High Performance option which basically overclocks your CPU a tad.

ok you are right intel's software that controls cpu frequency is controlled by the current power state of your computer

if i set it to high performance my cpu will be only 4200mhz or 1600mhz (speedstep is enabled) if i set minumum cpu state to %1 the cpu frequency fluctuates between 1600-4200mhz

also disabling EIST-Speedstep-cstates gives bit boost in some games but since i keep my pc on 24/7 i need the power save features
