So I already made up my mind that I am going to delid my 4770k using the Vice Method. The temps reach 80+ and it is not even Overclocked using an h100i. My question is since the TIM I have now is AS5 and that is conductive what should I use to cover the VRM? I am asking those with experience, is electrical tape good enough? Or is there something better that is inexpensive. Thanks. Also would AS5 be good on a delid. I plan on getting CL Liquid Ultra/Pro sometime in the future but will use AS5 for the time being

Thanks for any help it is greatly appreciated.

Before you delid, chances are you H100i is not making proper contact.  It is a common problem.

You need to do the Washer Mod:

If you're still serious about delidding, you should go ahead and get the Coolaboraty stuff now.  AS5 is not good, especially for a delid.

Oh trust me I have tried all different types of mounting methods and even different ways of applying Thermal Compound. Nothing helped it. I even RMA'd the h100i thinking it was that. I have washers on it now and it helps none. Thanks for the suggestion though!
