Having problems with my 970 Strix. I'm going to return it to Newegg but I was thinking about getting a refund instead of a replacement so I can get a different model. Newegg's return policy says refunds "may" be charged a 15% "restocking" fee (I hope they don't restock defective products). For a $350 card that would be $52.50. If it's that much I'll get a replacement instead (if they have any in stock). I emailed them 4 days ago but they haven't responded yet... I'm planning on calling them tomorrow.

Has anyone refunded anything from Newegg? Specifically a defective product? Did they charge a 15% "restocking" fee?

Edit: I made time for a call to the support center before they closed for the day. It ended up only taking about 8 minutes. The rep told me there is no restocking fee for defective products and filed an RMA order. He even said I'd get a shipping label in an email to ship it back for free. That was a pleasant surprise. I may go with a Gigabyte card as a replacement but I need to make sure it will fit in my case first (12.2 inches!?).
