Hi,

Im wondering how much performance i can expect to loose when running a VM. I basically want to have a VM run a server and TeamViewer (so that someone can have control of the server while im sleeping). The resources needed for the server is comparable to a minecraft server running about 10 people. Even though i trust the person that will be controlling the server i still want to know what the difference would be.

My desktop will be something like this: though i will probably take off the hdd and add another ssd for raid 0, and i can also add ram if necessary.

Let me know what i should expect in terms of performance and let me know if you have any recommendation for a vitual machine or maybe something to replace the teamviewer if you got anything better.

Thank you in advance for any help and please forgive my noobness im new to this sort of stuff.

It shouldn't effect the performance of anything depending on your specs (a list of your specs would be helpful). I consistently have 3-4 VM's for servers, btc wallets, and other things running in the background with no noticeable performance hits (i7 4770k, 780ti, 16gb ram).

If you have 16gb of ram then you should be fine, anything less than that I'd recommend an upgrade.
