Hello, this is my first post and I don't post much on forums so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.

Anyway my question is that can a Mac Mini support 1680x1050? My monitor has a VGA Port and A DVI-D (Dual Link) Can I buy something like this (HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable) or do I have to spend more and buy a mini display port to DVI? I also read somewhere that they are black strips on top and the bottom of the screen. Is their a way to fix this?

I'm planning to buy a Mac Mini (Late 2014) and want to know the answer.

Thanks in advance

Using the the DVI-HDMI adapter is completely fine, they're both digital. VGA is analog blahh and outdated. Anyone who is still using VGA needs to upgrade.

You can use the HDMI adapter, and the Mini should recognize the resolution and adapt to it. If not, you can manually force a res (Google it).

Congrats on the purchase! Ignore the comments I'm sure will follow that tell you to buy something else :D

Ah, thanks a lot. Hopefully there won't be any problems.

I just don't get why people hate Apple. They're both great.
