Hey guys,

I have been around on the forums and PCPP but I couldn't seem to make myself a respectable gaming rig on a 1200 AUD =budget. I am planing to use it for gaming and the budget does not include peripherals. If someone could put one together, that would be amazing.

Thanks,

Geordan

I'd personally go with this, I left some overhead as you'll probably need to pay for shipping.
If you need an optical drive / an OS I'll make adjustments.

I feel you, Australia is pretty expensive for some reason

If you're only gaming, I feel like a Pentium G3258 could be a good option

Keep in mind this is entirely my opinion

And sometimes it has been extensively proven that my opinion is trash

Here you go anyway :)

I'm always very wary about recommending the 3258 beyond the 270x ish because as soon as you start loading up the background processes two cores will start to be more of an issue, this is also just my opinion and having 3 sometimes 4 monitors results in lots of background tasks.

True, I'd like to see some tests of actual throttling of different cards by the 3258 though

I've more or less always owned a quad-core i5 (at least beyond my initial 3.0GHz Celeron haha)

Shoutout to linus to make this happen

you say "I left some overhead for shipping" when it clearly says in the text above that shipping is included. R O F L.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

Yea I'd like to see tests with fairly common background tasks running, chrome with 5-10 tabs, a music player, teamspeak, Skype, malware bytes and 1-2 things like Razer Synapse / CUE.

It's included when shipping is stated in the prices however in this case shipping varies from item to item and depending on where you are in Aus and is not specified in pcpartpicker.

This is a rough shipping estimate for the build, assuming they use standard shipping it works out to $1199.90
