I have one issue with each:

For Dxtory, the issue I'm having is recording at higher frame rates. Last night when I first tried it, 1080p 60Hz it was sitting around about the 40-45 fps record speed, when I dropped this to 720p it was easily holding 60. Today when I go back, even at 720p it's sitting at the 40-45 mark, occasionally jumping to 60 before coming back down. When I looked at the bitrates, when it was doing the 60 last night, according to file explorer, the bitrate for the recording was ~3Gbps (despite being substantially faster than the drive being used), today it's approximately half. Irrespective of the drive I record to the same bitrate limit seems to be there.

As for Vegas, well, it doesn't seem to want to do GPU rendering on a 980. It will list the card in the preferences section, but when setting up the render settings and checking for the GPU it cannot find it.

GTX980

i7-4930k

2x8GB (I think 1600MHz) DDR3 Corsair vengeance.

It probably has to do with your hard drive speed and playing games on the same hard drive you are recording on. 60fps takes a lot of write speed to do without dropping a lot of frames. I would research what settings to use based on your write speeds.

Everything's all off different frives to remove that issue. For the time being at least using shadowplay instead since that seems to very comfortably manage it.
