Hi everyone!

I've just joined the forum & I thought I'd introduce myself and show off my new rig, My name is Matt and I'm just starting my bachelor of technology this year (so if anyone has some advice or tips for studying IT that would be greatly appreciated :D), I also just finished building my new gaming PC.

This is my first time building a PC from the ground up, but I have had past experience fixing computers so surprisingly with some help from youtube it wasn't that hard!

Here's some pics:

Asus Maximus V Extreme

Intel core i7 3770k

Corsair H80

32GB of Corsair Vengeance Ram @1600MHz (4x8GB)

2 MSI GTX 680 2GB Lightning's in SLI

Asus Xonar Essence STX

Sandisk Extreme 120GB SSD Boot drive

WD Black 1TB Storage drive

Lite-On IHBS312 12x Blu-Ray Disc Writer

Corsair AX850 Gold PSU

Bitfenix Recon Fan Controller

2 Bitfenix Red LED strips

3 Bitfenix spectre pro fans for exhaust & 3 nzxt stock case fans for intakes

So whats your opinion?, have I done something wrong?, if there's anything you think I should change please tell me! :D

Nice man!, it looks really good. I just finished my build with the same case and my my it's awesome. The only things I did differently with mine is that I tailored it more heavily towards gaming, so I went with the 3570k and 16gigs of ram. (i also splurged and got the 690 and hell is that thing awesome. I'm curious how you're liking the maximus extreme, as I went with the MSI mpower. I'm also curious as to how you like the fan controller, is it useful? How much of a difference do the new fans make in the case as far as the acoustics go?

Anyway, awesome build! I'll put mine up eventually.

The 690 is freaking awesome!!! & the MSI Mpower is an absolutely beautiful motherboard great buy!!, I'm really happy with the maximus v extreme & I haven't had any problems with it, but my only gripe with the motherboard is that if you're doing SLI with 680's the board only really gives you 2-3 options of where to put them, now usually that wouldn't matter, but when I have to put the xonar essence stx sound card in as well it's super tight. you probably can't even see the sound card in the pics I posted, it's right under the lower 680 and there's about 3mm's of room between the pins on the sound card and the fans of the 680!, but it all still fits and I can't see any difference in temps so it's all good!

The Bitfenix recon fan controller has been fantastic especially for the price, I use it to control the 2 front fans & the 3 top fans in the case, it automatically adjusts the fan speed depending on the temperature as well but when I'm playing a graphically intense game I usually switch it to manual mode and crank it up, it also has a temperature reading for each fan which is neat. The fans are great as well I'm really surprised at the quality of bitfenix's products, I would say they're about 40% quieter than the nzxt case fans and they push about the same amount of air as far as I can tell, the loudest part in the system is actually the corsair h80, the 120mm fan are a little noisy, the temps are good but there isn't much overclocking headroom because when the 3770k goes past 4Ghz I reach load temps of 82c which I'm not comfortable with so for now I'm running at stock speeds (62c @ load) I'm thinking of upgrading to the swiftech h220 when it launches so can overclock a little.

Overall I'm pretty darn happy with the whole build! :D
