Imo I would suggest more ram, like 16gb, and getting an SSD for faster performance. Also your PSU is a bit overkill, unless you are planning for extra cards in the future

I was thinking of upgrading my Gpu later on so thats why I have went for a bigger psu and it has a 5 year warranty with it and do I need a cpu cooler as I was not totally planning on OC but it would be nice for the pc to be quiet

 

If you want to upgrade why would you go with a 280 then? It is good enough to last a couple years. You would only need more if you will run 2 way

I was considering the xfx model but the gigabytes benchmarks looked better and will the msi motherboard last long?? I am aiming for the pc to last for around 4-5 years with some upgrades until I go to uni then ill do a complete revamp of it.

 

you can overclock the xfx to match the gigabyte and you can upgrade the motherboard when you feel like it with the case
