Hello friends,

I live in a country where there is a lot of power cuts. We do have a backup generator but it takes a minute to spool up.

My PC has:

- Gigabyte GTX 970

- Intel 4790K

- Asus Z97 pro motherboard

- 8 GB of RAM

- 1 TB of HDD plus a 120 GB SSD

- 650W power supply

Does anybody have any idea how big the UPS has to be in order for it to keep my computer powered for a minute or two?

Thanks a lot :D

i have no idea about UPS's, so i searched on amazon and looked for the one with the biggest number of AVR

i found one that has 2000 of those but is expensive a bit, but more expesive is replacing a dead CPU or GPU due to a blackout

this one looks cooler

Edit: after researching a bit i found that at a 200w load the second linked UPS can last 50 minutes in battery power, so you can get a cheaper one that has less AVR

I think that 1200W UPS would be able to power that system for an hour or 2.
