I recieved a big enough lump of money last week for my 18th birthday to get either an i7 consumer cpu and a pretty high end mobo, and a 980. But my problem is if i get a 980, nvidia are literally going to release the 980ti next week. And if i get the cpu+mobo, broadwell is just around the corner and haswell refresh is getting old, and even if i wait for broadwell, the features promised by skylake are amazing... Damnit, i guess ill just wait till the end of 2015 to get any upgrade from my i5-2310 and my gtx 760. Sorry for any eventual errors i'm writing this from my phone

I don't really see a question in this post, but I'll assume you're asking wether you should wait...

Waiting is NEVER a bad idea in tech, unless you need a pc now. I can't tell you if you really need to have it now or not, that's for you to decide. If you do need it now, I have one thing to say: get a 970 instead of a 980. The 980 is not worth its current price of almost two times the cost of a 970, so I think you should go for a 970 or even two if you have the extra 100$ or so.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
