A single 970 doesnt have anywhere near enough power for 1440p 144hz. I'd also either go for 144hz or 1440p and save yourself $500-$700.

Are you looking for tenkeyless or full sized? What is your preferred switch type? Budget? This goes for the monitor and headphones as well.

Its a 980. While he may not be able to max everything. I think this is a fair monitor purchase.
