DNS Problems with WRT1900AC

Hello,

 

I got a new router, the Linksys WRT1900AC.

Well, I've got a problem with it, it doesn't have any DNS or something.

Every time I try to connect with f.e. a tablet, it has a DNS error.
Since I had this on my laptop, I tried using the Google DNS on my Ethernet connection and it worked.
But this is pretty annoying, always having to set up a DNS on every device.

I have everything set up on the router like my previous one but it isn't working.

Anyways, can someone explain why this is happening and a guide how to fix it?
My parents are pretty mad because almost no device has internet.

I would suggest looking through the router settings and trying to find the one regarding DNS servers, then set it to use Google's servers (or whichever you like).

I already tried setting them to the Google DNS, I even tried using Static IP to be sure it was at Google DNS servers but I still have the issue.

Is there a reason why you aren't using DHCP on your devices?  You shouldn't have to assign them all if it is on.

 

With that said try flushing your DNS releasing and renewing via cmd.

I had some bad experience with my ISP's DNS. Your router should allow you to set a DNS, so you don't need to set it for every device

Just to confirm: Google DNS servers are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Go under the connectivity tab in the Linksys firmware then to Local Network and set a static DNS to OpenDNS, the servers are 208.67.222.222/208.67.222.220 also use the second server for the third static DNS as well.
