Hello everyone

I spilled rice milk (kinda like juice) over my Razer DeathStalker Expert. I instantly unplugged it and wiped all the milk. I took it to the bathroom and wiped as much as I could. I set up the hair dryer so that it's blowing to the keyboard. What is the best solution? What is the best solution to do? I am nit sure if I want to take it appart, because that will void my warrant, right? I need to save it because it is so awesome and the best I got other is crap. Its a $100 keyboard so I wanna save it. I cant afford a new keyboard right now. Im gonna wash it with water and then dry it out.

Please help me!

The thing with liquids and electronics is that as long as the electronic isn't giving power to the liquid, then there is nothing to worry about. Usually water is more troublesome than milk since it carries ions easier.

Just let it dry for a few days like those above me stated, and you should be fine. Just use a keyboard you have lying around, or go looking around at your local Goodwill (usually they're like $2, and are nice to have as a spare). You never know, you might just find an old Model M there :)

Jow I washed it in the shower and put it in the boiling room to dry.

So I figured: Im gonna let it dry over the night and then see uf I can put it appatt to dry it faster and efficiently. Anyway I will then put it in rice and see how it dries. Ill probably leave it for a few days or so.

Milk? That thing will smell like sh** in a few days, if it doesn't get rinsed off.

It should give you the idea of cleaning a keyboard

Mine is nothing like that. When you spill an electronical device with milk, coffee, sugar... the worst thing you can do is leave it to dry. It eats up thelittle connections and BAM your device id dead. I washed it before it dried so when the water dries out, my key board should be fine. I think. And hope.

Thank you all for help. I apreciate the fast response. Love u all...

If it's a membrane keyboard, I would take it apart and separate the membrane from the PCB inside. Something tells me that would take weeks for any water trapped in between to dry out.

It took me about an hour to take it all apart and clean it. There are all do a few keys that dont work. There was stuff on the pads but we didnt manage to clan it all. If somone knows a substance that wouldnt damage the membrane please, it would really help.

Does anyone knows where I can buy a new membrane?
