Complete system lock-up when USB is inserted.

So for about the past 2 months I've been experiencing problems with my system completely locking up when something is inserted into the USB port. I have tried everything but can't find a solution. 

 

...But it isn't all of the time and sometimes it just locks up on boot. Its mainly when something is plugged into any of the USB ports though. It occurs on every port be it back ports or case ports. 

 

I'm running a 2500k at stock speed on a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3, H100i, 16gb HyperX Predator, Samsung Evo 840, GTX 760 if this is useful to anyone. 

 

I'm drawing a blank and can't really find anything online but as I am a stop motion animator, I am constantly plugging my camera into USB so it can be quite a frustrating process.

sounds like the wundows updater maybe causing it ?? just an idea

The first thing I'd suggest is to see if there's a motherboard update.

Second is to update all the intel chipset drivers (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20775/eng/SetupChipset.exe&Lang=eng&Dwnldid=20775)
