Hi! So I had a bit of an accident in which a cup of water went through the top of my case, damaging the entire pc. I unplugged it quickly and dried it all for about a day and a half, but after reassembling it, I am afraid there definitely is some damage. Therefore I am wondering how to assess all the damage, especially for the cpu and motherboard.

I think the mother board is definitely gone; I've tried plugging a monitor into the onboard hdmi and dvi but I cannot get any output. Also when I turn on the motherboard, it seemingly works fine, with the fans turning on and the indicator lights for power and the number on the bottom right all turning on (I have a as rocks 97z extreme 4). But the thing is that after a couple of minutes, the fans and number die for a few seconds (and restart right after), though the power indicator light stays on.

I wanted to make sure therefore, that it is my motherboard that is causing this. I made sure to unplug everything from my ssd/hdd/ram/gpu to check this

jeman, the problem is that there was power when the water hit. I unplugged the tower right away, but not before any damage hit I am afraid :S

I believe his video was about how his dell got water damaged, but nothing happened. I am just trying to figure out what parts I have to buy

i would say (if u have the money) go to newegg, buy all the parrts, then start testing to find out which parts work and wich dont, then send back the working parts
