Freezing in bios

Greetings folks!

So i'm trying to install windows 8.1 via a usb,
My problem is whenever i get in to bios, my computer completley freezes when i try to save and exit 
When i try to go in to the quick booting option nothing shows up and it instantly freezes there to.

I'm running a scan with avast as i write this

I'm using a X79A-GD45 Plus mobo from MSI

Anny thought to why this is happening or similar experiences / solutions?

dont oc for now, update your bios first.
