Hello, I'm pretty new to building PC's and I want to make sure that all these parts look good and will all work together.

Also I was wondering if i should keep the i5 or go for an i7 since I plan to eventually add another gpu (idk if it would even matter that much) and is the power supply overkill or is it good since I plan on expanding in the future.

Also I don't know a ton about mobo's is the one I've picked a good choice or is there something more suited to my needs?

Fiinally I know nothing about Wireless adapters is the one that i've chosen good and if not what should I look for to pick a good one.

DONT CHOOSE CORSAIR RM SERIES FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY IN THE WORLD. CHOOSE EVGA SUPERNOVA 750G2 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

for the motherboard, you need a Maximus 7 hero rather than the 6, i have seen people that put a devils canyon cpu (4690k and 4790k) and the z87 chipset puts like 1.5 volts into it,

(that will kill the cpu even at idle)

You may want to put a 240gb SSD rather than 120, i used a 120 in the past and it ran out of space so fast, im glad i bought a new 240gb

CPU cooler is fine, but dont expect to do 5ghz on it.
IF you wanna SLI the 970 in the future, 750w is all you will need, you maxwell chips are very power efficient

i prefer usb wifi cards, because the core i5 only has 16 pci lanes, and if you add anything else the GPU will run at 8x rather than 16x

Other than that welcome to glorious PC Masterrace

Edit: as for i5 vs i7, you only need i7 if you are doing heavy video editing, if not stick to i5

Are you new to the forums???? read the Code of Conduct HERE WANT SOME AWESOME LTT THEMED WALLPAPERS??? check out XTanksSlayerX's wallpaper thread HERE

Alright I've heard a couple of things aboput the rm 750 frying on a couple of sites so I'll be making a change to that.

Like I said I know nothing about mobos lol so I'll make that change too.

The ssd id more for just the os and maybe a couple of other files I have a 2tb seagate for the rest of my stuff that shouldent get filled to quickly.

FInally if i upgrade to an i7 will that give me more pci lanes? Will I need more anyways if I decide to go SLI? If I should get more pci lanes how do I go aout doing that? And do you have any recommendations for a usb wifi card?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/H4ff23 Does this look better? Not sure if its the G2 Evga since it doesent really say but the pictures have a G2 on them.

Heres what i would change

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Dsf23

Things I changed and Why:

Corsair Vengence - G.Skill Trident X : Same great quality but Much faster + colour matching

Gigabyte GTX 970 - MSI GTX 970 : I think it look better not as long same general overclocking results + colour Matching

Hyper 212 Evo - Cooler master Seidon v120 : Better CPU temps Great quality have one in my main rig

Corsair C70 - Phantek Enthoo Pro : More user frendly, looks better (IMO) has alot of extras (Watch Linus's review)

Samsung 840 evo - Sandisk Ultra 2 : Cheaper and About the same speed + colour matching

2tb - 1tb : I've never used more than 1tb of storage plus an ssd i'd stick with one unless your sure you'll use more than 1tb

ROG Maximus Hero 7 - MSI Gaming 5 : Has the same looks and quality and its has the same features ROG is overrated (IMO)

More fans - Instead of just one dual pack of sp120's i would recommend 2, 1 single sp120 on the cpu cooler and the other 3 at the top of the case

I took out the monitors because its both cheaper and better to get a single 2560 x 1400p monitor I recommend Xstar Its about 300 on ebay

heres a link  http://goo.gl/74yctx%C2'> I have this monitor and its amazing cannot go wrong with it, althought you can get the pixel perfect one.

Questions you had:

No upgrading to the core I7 will not give you more pci lanes unless you go x99, plus you dont need them as anything more than dual SLI or Crossfire

doesnt scale particularly well.

For a USB wifi card the best not super expensive one would be the  Linksys WUSD6300  althought you could probably get a better one from Asus for a heavier Price tag

Good luck

Alright I've heard a couple of things aboput the rm 750 frying on a couple of sites so I'll be making a change to that.

Keep in mind that users/customers only tend to vent about products that go wrong.  So there's more of that kind of feedback.

How many forum threads have you seen that were started simply for sharing how awesome something has been for any given amount of time?  That's the nature of consumerism regardless of the brand, product, or industry.

People around here hate Corsair power supplies... CX more than the RM.   I've had a CX installed in my son's computer for a while with no issues. [Knock on wood.]

I agree. Supernova G2/P2 is vastly superior.

for the motherboard, you need a Maximus 7 hero rather than the 6, i have seen people that put a devils canyon cpu (4690k and 4790k) and the z87 chipset puts like 1.5 volts into it,

He doesn't need a Maximus anything. A humble Z97-A will do everything the OP needs.

CPU cooler is fine, but dont expect to do 5ghz on it.

IF you wanna SLI the 970 in the future, 750w is all you will need, you maxwell chips are very power efficient

You don't even need 750W actually. 970s sip power ever so gently

i prefer usb wifi cards, because the core i5 only has 16 pci lanes, and if you add anything else the GPU will run at 8x rather than 16x

This is utterly false information. The X1 slots are PCIE 2.0 and run off the PCH, not the CPU. Get a PCIE wifi card.

Other than that welcome to glorious PC Masterrace

Agreed. Welcome.

Edit: as for i5 vs i7, you only need i7 if you are doing heavy video editing, if not stick to i5

There's a lot of other stuff i7 is good for. With a lot of new games capable of using more than 4 threads, the argument for an 8 thread CPU for gaming has never been stronger. If you can swing an extra 100 bucks get the i7.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.
