so, i got my laptop running at 1366x768 and thats fine.

but i want to duplicate that screen on to a 1080P monitor....

and last time it worked, the screen just got fine at 1080p, but now when i plug in the monitor it runs at 1024x768? so i get those ugly bars on the 2nd display...

wtf could this be? i have all the updated drivers (IGPU 3000)

Go into the Screen Resolution settings and make sure the resolution of the 1080P monitor is at 1920x1080. Also make sure that the displays aren't duplicating eachother because that will cause all the displays to run at the resolution of the lowest resolution display.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

When you duplicate you can only go as high of a resolution as the lowest resolution monitor. If you want a 1080p screen you have to have it run in projector mode.
