for some reason since yesterday my mouse suddenly doesn't like my scratched up piece of wood at all but part of the wood that isn't scratched up(and monitor stand) works fine and my brother's cloth mousepad and sheet of paper, and i think ipad glass has the same problem. I've tried switching usb ports, updating firmware and adjusting lift height in the software but nothing has worked. any ideas?

btw the m65 has a laser sensor

Might've just become too scratched up. Buy a mousepad.

If still problematic, RMA mouse.

Also, check for gunk. Though it may be wise to do that with your system off. Lasers and eyes generally aren't a good mix.

Also, patience is a good thing. We aren't paid tech support, so we jump when we feel like it, not when told too.

it works flawlessly on some surfaces like my steam wallet card and there's no gunk

So you use your mouse in a scratched up piece of wood and then complain about it notworking as it should?

I don't know what to tell you, honestly. Just buy a mouse pad as you were supposed to from the beginning. And no, not all laser sensors work on glass.

the sensor touches the surface right?

If the surface isn't flat enough or has tiny imperfections the sensor will have trouble tracking.
