Modmic 4.0 static noise

IBIubbleTea

When testing my Modmic 4.0. I need to set my microphone boost to 20 at 100% just for it to be loud enough, when doing so, there would be a lot of static noise. Currently I have it plugged into my motherboard. Do I need a USB to Audio soundcard or would just a usb to audio adapter be just fine?

Hey, I was searching around and I found this.

http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAUD-Adapter-C-Media-Chipset/dp/B001MSS6CS

When reading through some reviews. I found this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R37Q7W5SRVY3QM/ref=cm_cr_pr_rvw_ttl?ASIN=B001MSS6CS

"Drawbacks?

The microphone input is mono, which is fine for voice headsets, but probably not great for pro audio recording, which probably wouldn't be done with a $10 device anyway."

What does he mean? Does this mean that when I record my microphone audio, it's going to come out on one side, ie left?

No, it means the L/R channel will be exactly the same.
