Steelseries Rival Randomly Stop Tracking.

About a month ago I purchased a new Steelseries Rival, and so far I seriously love it. Last night I was playing some CS: GO and all of a sudden, in the middle of a gunfight, my mouse stopped tracking and I died. I had to click in order to have it work again. I have a mousepad, but my Mom was using it for her laptop mouse because she doesn't like using a trackpad. What can I do to fix this? Is this a hardware or software problem? I really don't want $60 to go to waste.

Could have just been a usb driver crash or something,

 

If it keeps happening I would get it replaced under warranty

Try reinstalling drivers, if that doesnt work go and get a refund and buy a different one or get it replaced.

I believe i have it pluged into a USB 2.0, would it be beneficial if i plug it into a USB 3.0?

 

No will make no difference but trying a different USB port could help fix things, or even trying a front USB port or something
