Microphone doesn't work, static sound

Hi, this happened ever since I updated "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller", I highly doubt it was after anything else. I don't know what that controller really does or if it affects my microphone but the signal is just a static sound, no sound coming out. I tried another mic I had and it was the same thing, so I don't thing it's a mic problem.
