DisplayPort versions question

Go to solution Solved by slashes_2_asses,

It is backwards compatible, but you will not have any DP1.2  features.

Source: I have a Dell U2413 with a DP1.1 graphics card. The monitor also has feature to turn off DP1.2, ,so it behaves as DP1.1 if you have any trouble.

Hi,

I am planning to buy a Dell U2414H monitor which has Displayport version 1.2a. My video card is a XFX Radeon HD5770 which has Displayport 1.1a, I think. I think my card is 1.1a, because it was released in September 2009 and Displayport 1.2 was approved in December 2009, so few months later.

I am not planning on doing any daisy chaining/MST with multiple monitors, but will I have any issues running that monitor (DP 1.2a) and my video card (DP 1.1a)?

Thanks,

Neo.
