Hi LTT community

I want to study game development, but i don't now where to go. I am graduating on December (i live in Peru)

I have 4 options:

  1. FullSail
  2. DigiPen
  3. Algoma University
  4. Ontario Institute of Technology

Please give me some advice on which is best.

First of all come to Ontario! It's cold as balls in the winter but otherwise its pretty great! Next, is there any specific reason for Algoma or OIT? There's lots of great uni's in the province with comp sci degrees and game dev courses. Are you looking for a college programming diploma or a computer science degree?

Both would be great.  :D

I am also thinking about computer engineering

I'm still trying to find Uni's in English speaking countries

Being in the UK, I can't really comment on this aside from echoing the "go to an actual university" sentiment.

However, as somebody already studying games development at university, I will say; do it, it's awesome. :D

In which U are you studying?

In which U are you studying?

Kingston University London. Not going to sugarcoat it; there are better places for this subject, but it's by no means bad. I'm enjoying it regardless. :P I've just started my 2nd year of the course, and once I've finished it I plan to do a master's degree elsewhere.

Where are you going to study for your master?

I entered to the Kingston U's webpage and found 3, i don't know which of these 3 are you studying

  1. Computer Graphics Technology
  2. Games Technology
  3. Computer Science (Games Programming)

I'm doing the 2nd one; Games Tech. Less focus on just programming, a bit more focus on actual technology behind games, like physics and graphical engines and such.

As for doing a master's degree, I'm honestly not sure where it'll be, since I've yet to determine whether it's in my best interests to do a master's in general Computer Science, or specialise in an area of games development. The latter one is the more likely option. :)
