overkill 970

Can gtx 970 be a lil bit of an overkill for gaming at 1080p? Will 960 be better solutions and bang for the buck for that purpose?
Like if you playing at 1080 with 60ghz monitor you wont feel any benefits of that 70, 80, 90 etc fps bonus

I think 970 is the best bang for your buck, and even is a bit future proof. 

I wouldn't call it overkill.

I think it is fine for games at 1080p, considering you will have to be able to play games in the future aswell!
