Shield Tablet or Portable?

I want to play games in my bed, sitting on the couch and also I would like to use Shield Console Mode. Which is better in your opinion?

Sarcasm aside, the only thing I see people using them anymore is the new Smash Bros game. Aside from that nobody I know with a 3DS has touched theirs in quite a while.

I'd go tablet because it's more powerful for native gaming, bare in mind it won't be as easy to play in bed though.
