Hi, i'd like to see if anyone thinks it is worth an RMA for my newly purchased ASUS PB238Q.

I know IPS panels tend to have a bit of bleed and somewhat unsatisfactory Blacks, i do however feel this is a bit excessive.

However i don't want to look like a fool so i'll ask you guys about it first.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Pictures i took with a digital camera after some tweaking with the vibrance and some brightness and contrast adjustment.

Maybe? I honestly can't say since none of the monitors I use (AOC 2236Vw through the week, and an AOC 2242W and Dell E176FP on the weekends) have it. Not even the one on my netbook really has it.

Well the first thing I would do is reset the monitor to factory defaults, take a look at the bleed, then turn the brightness down a considerable amount and see take another look at it... find your happy medium, and see if the monitor is too dark for you to use in your normal usage scenarios. I personally like my screen darker than most people while working/reading/surfing, and turned up when watching movies or shows (especially if they have a lot of night scenes)

Turn off the backlight on your keyboard... as I have a feeling some (just a bit) of that lower bleed is reflection, or rotate it so you dont get reflection from your overhead light and keyboard when youre checking for bleed.

I always guarantee that no more than 50% of what I say is useful.

I can clarify that the bottom left side is by far the worst, i don't mind the upper right too much. However watching a movie or playing games and seeing black corners turn grey is disturbing.

be sure to tone done your brightness (what value too depends on the monitor)

every panel (especially IPS) is absurdly overbright from the factory - likely to stand out as much as possible in a brightly lit retail store. everytime I hear someone complain about backlight bleed on the 34UM95 but still running the 100 brightness, I want to throw something
