so ive been looking around at GPU's and ive seen some that are sli ready and others that are not what does this mean exactly? i know that you need to have the have the same type of card, (not proper term) so you cant have a gtx 980 and a 970 and that they have to have the same amount of memory on the card and that you also need an sli bridge. now back to "sli ready" does it just mean that it comes with the sli bridge? i don't think that's it but i really don't have anything else. also ill post a video in the post as a reference hope it actualy posts as a video instead of a link.

That means nvidia has allowed the card to be sli'ed.

a 750ti for example is not, so it doesn even have sli fingers. a 970 on the other hand is only allowed to go up to 3way, while a 980 can do 4way.

It's just nvidia telling you what to do.

No, they dont come with sli bridges. (they usually come with the motherboard)

its basically just a marketing term to say you can use sli. Sometimes motherboards come with sli bridges.

Well the card actually being capable of running in sli and the description saying it, or a big logo on the box are different. Like stated, a marketing ploy, catches peoples eye. The less knowledgeable you are the easier it is to sell you something, like magic.

Not saying that if its missing from the specs means it can run in sli. Just gotta know where to pay attention.

so wait there's no difference besides naming scheme?  can i use a card that is not sli ready for sli with no problems?

No. If a card is not SLI ready like the GTX 750Ti, you can't use it for SLI without some vBIOS and driver hacks (and probably some hardware modifications to attach the bridge).

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
