Corsair 600T Exhaust Fan Failure help

hamiltus

Hi guys,

My 6-month old Corsair 600T has a developed a worrying problem. Basically my top 200mm fan has stopped spinning and may be dead.

I've tried connecting it to the case fan controller, to the mobo (GByte Z77-DS3H), to my PSU via molex and nothing works.

Help !!!!

Seems like it has died yep.

Altho you could double-check the blades carefully, maybe something's blocking it or maybe it has jammed.

Good luck!

Best wishes

Dead - if you've connected it to all of that and nothing works then it's dead. Give it a good visual inspection, there may be a loose wire ect that is causing the issue. Re-soldering will be less expensive provided you have the tools than buying a new one.

The 200mm fans on those aren't great, anyway. You might want to take the opportunity to grab two nice 140mm fans to replace it.

and if that fails just buy a new one, most of the fans that come with cases are very average. As it is an exhaust fan, just fine something that is around the same in terms of sound (or even quieter), but you should be able to fine one that has a much higher airflow (normally measured in CFM). In terms of pressure, it isn't a big deal it is an exhaust.

The 600t only holds the 200mm or 2x120mm in the top compartment. Not compatiable with 140mm.

Well this is the fourth time I've tried to reply, because the forums are blatantly incompetent, but you're right, I remembered wrong.

Fans are covered under warranty, but it's not worth sending it away and waiting when you'd get a much better replacement fan for $15.

Thanks so much guys for the feedback. So is it better to just suck it up and buy 2x Corsair AF120 or SP120 (Not sure which one is best for a Top Exhaust?) and carry on or try for a RMA for the fan ?

Thanks again, you rock

UPDATE : Corsair just replied to my RMA request and they've sent me a new fan with no questions asked. Only twelve hours after the RMA request was sent. Best customer service ever

If you ever want a quieter 200mm fan try the Cooler Master Megaflow Red or blue. 700 RPM 100CFM, so they say. They are quiet. Glad Corsair helped.
