Can you get HDMI to Display Port Adapters

Hi,

 

Can you get HDMI to Display Port adapters so that I can attached my laptop with HDMI out to a Display Port monitor.  I can't find any online so so they exist.  I know you can get Display Port to HDMI, would these work the other way around or can they only be for connecting an Display Port out to an HDMI monitor?

 

Any links would be good.

No sorry dude. HDMI to Displayport wont work on your monitor. Display to HDMI will work!

Sorry, I was wrong, I guess it's not possible.

HDMI does not support displayport functions!

DisplayPort inputs can only receive DisplayPort input signals, which HDMI outputs are not capable of sending.  Likewise HDMI inputs can only accept HDMI input signals (or DVI which is essentially the same), but DisplayPort outputs are capable of sending HDMI signals.
