AMD drivers with chrome browser

ok so. like normal people i update drivers when they are released.. i updated to the catalyst 14.9 drivers and now youtube on google chrome will randomly crash the display drivers forcing me to use the trusty reset button. this only happens when i am trying to close the entire browser and not a tab. i use the browser on a second screen with a different resolution than the primary monitor. not sure if that makes a difference. upon the driver crash i get a black screen with pieces of what the browser looked like scattered across the screen and flashing. sometimes the primary monitor will be normal and i can fix it by reopening a google chrome window.. sometime the primary goes blank as well. not sure if its a common issue but its the first time ive encountered it. this happens with and without overclock on the gpu. its not overheating. ive ruled that out already.

important specs.

win 7 x64 ult.

xfx r9 280x

amd catalyst 14.9

primary monitor 1920x1080 dvi-d

secondary 1440x900 dvi-d

It happens with me too... I haven't noticed it on YouTube because I watch the majority of my YouTube on my laptop but I have noticed the issue you speak of in games. I might just roll back to the 14.7 beta. I had a more stable overclock on the beta too. Oh I have a gigabyte 270x

yeah. im probably going to roll back too. my overclock isnt as stable. and i see zero performance improvements with the new drivers.. im just glad im not alone on this issue. i thought my computer was taking a dump on me.

Hi Sir,Why are you downloading drivers from Chrome ? Please follow these steps and I think it will help you out

I had the same problem with my Geforce 210 and I did this and everything started to work Perfect

I highly recommend you totally Remove the Drivers of this GPU

NOTE-Your GPU must be connected properly

1) Download Driver Booster Free from iObit and Install them (You can make it PRO by learning in Youtube)

2) At first Open,It will automatically scan for Outdated Drivers

3) After Searching,It will show the Results and All you have to do is tap 'Update',Sit back and Enjoy some Coffee !

4) When you click 'Update',It will calculate the Size of those drivers,Download it all in One (As an Order)

5) Most Important thing - It also creates a System Restore Point before installing any Driver.
