What should I do (samsung tablet)

I have been a apple ipod touch guy for a while and want to switch to android tablet, especially since my itouch just died on me randomly and won't turn on. I have been looking at the galaxy tab 4 the 7 inch or the 8 inch version. My only question is are they a good tablet. 

 

How often does samsung release new tablets I see these were in april 2014 should I just wait til next april to get the new version on launch or should this last me.

I have a Galaxy tab pro 8.4 and I love it. Feels great to hold and the display looks amazing. 

 

I think they come out with a new one every year or so.

im not talking about the 8.4 im talking about the tab 4 with the 7 and 8 inch screens
