bridging an encrypted network

My college has an encrypted network, and no Ethernet ports in the walls. The Wii U can't connect through encrypted networks as I understand it, so I'm trying to connect the Wii U via Ethernet by plugging it into my laptop. I've bridged the wifi connection to the Ethernet port, and task manager reports data going back and forth on the Ethernet. However, the Wii U still doesn't connect. Anyone got any ideas?

If bridging doesn't work you can rebroadcast the signal over a non-encrypted network and likely get in that way.

 

Only real problem is then your computer would have to be on for the Wii to be connected to the internet....

 

There are lots of usb dongles that allow you essentially use them as a router and set up your own wifi.

The one above should work but you may have to do some gymnastics to set it up.

 

The nice thing about the one I linked to above is the software has a "broadcast" mode.
