Up till now i've only ever OC'd my CPU. I decided to OC my GPU a bit today, see what i can squeeze out of it. I've got an MSI R9 270X.

Stock speeds -

1050 MHz Core

1400 MHz Memory (5.6GHz)

My OC -

1165 MHz Core

1500MHz Memory (6GHz)

My GPU's core temp is safe, running Furmark it hit 71c with my fans at 47%.(i have a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner) The thing is, my VRM temps went up to 88c.

Considering a regular game won't cause it to hit a high temp like that, compared to Furmark. Is that a reasonable VRM temp, considering i've OC'd the memory too?

*Update*

VRM's are sitting at ~50c whilst i play CSS, seems alright. May just have been Furmark causing them to get to those high temps.

VDDC sits around 1.24v

Yeah sounds about right, my 290x lightning VRM runs at 75 degrees after gaming. So it should be fine for gaming.

VRM can get really hot when overclocking considering you are applying more voltage. You can try to benchmark you gpu by lowering the gpu voltage to the sweet spot or apply new thermal paste to your gpu

Why do you think i was running Furmark? The voltage is stock, but i've increased the power limit in MSI Afterburner to +20%.

What I mean is manufacturer usually over set the stock voltage more than it really needed. So, if you are really paranoid about temperature, you can lower the voltage.
