Crossfire dilemma

Go to solution Solved by Phllips,

I mean a 970 chipset MOTHERBOARD not a gtx 970.

oh lol. buy a crossfire bridge then. you should probably get a 3 way one so its bigger. also yes you need one

I have a msi 970 gaming edition mobo that supports both sli and crossfire and i currenty have a gigabyte windforce r9 270x. I want to upgrade to crossfire but i have encountered an issue. The Mobo doesn't include a crossfire bridge (only SLI) and the bridge included with the 270x only reaches over 1 slot. There are 2 slots in between the both pci-e 2.0 slots. My question is whether or not i can run crossfire without a bridge or whether i will need to buy one that reaches across the 2 slots (if so could you include a link to a canadian retailer that sells one).

You can buy crossfire bridges but it should be included in your GPU box, AFAIK. @Tornation

The mother board uses the the 970 chipset, not the GPU.
