First off, I know 2 670's for 1920x1080 is a little overkill, but it's what I have.

I have 2 monitors on my computer, one for gaming(1920x1080) and an auxiliary monitor that i replaced with my current 1080p monitor(2048x1152).

When playing games that aren't as demanding on graphics in general(this particular MMO is built on cry engine 1) I have experienced scenarios where my SLI performance is actually less than with a single card. I don't know if this is common, this is my first SLI set-up. The points where it feels like the performance is terrible usually happen when a lot of effects and animations are going on, but I don't experience the same slow down on a single card. I have also been experiencing what I believe to be "frame-rating", where fraps or any fps monitor shows my fps at 60+ but the game feels very sluggish. All of this is when I have different things going on my 2nd display(sometimes a live stream/video/webpage) and the game on my 1080p monitor.

The first issue wouldn't be so bad if I could disable SLI. When I use nvidias control panel to turn off SLI, there is a high chance my screens stay black and never come back. I do not hear anything from my computer through my headphones such as the vent sound when you use push to talk. Is this just another drawback of using dual video cards?

Thanks for any input.

Well some games don't support SLI or don't have SLI drivers out so that is what could be causing the FPS and sluggish problem, for the black screening I would suggest uninstalling nvidia drivers and using ccleaner to remove from registry then reinstall them.
