sry if this is misposted just came across it and had to show everyone it just listed today

this is a listing on amazon for the gigabyte gtx 980 [only manufacturer on there for the 980 atm]

the listing price is exactly as predicted though regrettably it has a stock cooler

Umm Newegg has quite a few of them up though many are sold out already since they were allowed to launch at 12:01 PST. Newegg has the OEM ones up by ~01:30 or so.

Confirmed on newegg all 980 model are out of stock http://goo.gl/FGnBOZ .

Why are you surprised? The new GPU's are replacers.

Man.. Now when i think of it.. How expensive would the GTX 980 be if Every new generation costed more than the last from launch.. Easily within $5000 to $7000.

I bought my 780 after the price was reduced. On release it cost ~600-650ish.

980 is actually more expensive than normally usually that tier is $499 for the base card. But the 970 is cheaper as usually that $399 and last gen (770) only recently dropped to $349.
