Hello,

I want to put 2 seagate barracudas 1TB in raid 0, but when i go into my bios i don't have the option to put them in raid.  i have an msi b85-g41 which supports raid 0, and im not sure why im not getting the option to raid.  they are differnt types of drives, but are similair enough that they should raid.  also i have a kingston hyperx <a _sp="p2060778.m2749.l2649" data-cke-saved-href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/181514996837?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT" href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/181514996837?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT" class="vip item-title" title="Kingston HYPERX 120 GB,Internal,2.5" (sh100s3b="" 120g)="" (ssd)="" solid="" state="" drive"="" itemprop="name" style="color: rgb(106, 41, 185); text-decoration: none; line-height: 17px; font-size: 15px; position: relative; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;">SH100S3B 120gb and i got a really good deal for 53 dollars.  i want to get another 120gb ssd, but i can't find another of the same model for below 200 dollars.  can i get another 120gb ssd and put those two in raid 0?

I can help with programming and hardware.

Okay, I'm no expert in the field of RAID, but on looking up your motherboard I found this:

MSI's exclusive Super RAID application helps to easily setup and configure to boost your system performance and stay current with automatic, no-wait updates to your e-mail, social networks, news, and more via the 3 Intel® key technologies:

3 Key Intel® Technologies:
- Intel® Rapid Start
- Intel® Smart Response*
- Intel® Smart Connect

*This feature only works on platform/model that supports Intel® Smart Response technology

This says to me that is an application, and not a BIOS tool that is used to setup the raid Config. However on further research I found this:

Please be advised that Intel Smart Response is required to perform RAID
Therefore, H81/Q85/B85 do not have RAID support, but they still can support Rapid Start and Smart Connect.

What this means, is that your board does not support RAID at all.

Sorry mate, you're out of luck for hardware RAID.

If you really, really need RAID, I suggest looking into way to do it with the Windows Operating System.
