I am currently using an iPhone 5, which I did not pick out as my father and sister went to upgrade without me. It's not bad by any means and have been serving me well, but I ready for something where I can have more control over my device and better battery life, so Android is the way to go for me.

So I'm finally eligible for a phone upgrade on my family's Sprint plan and was wondering about a few things.

  • How is Sprint with pushing Android updates out to phones? Are they faster than most carriers or are you stuck in Android purgatory?
  • Since I am coming from an Apple device where it's bloat free, how much bloat, if any, does Sprint put onto their devices?

Please and Thank you.

The updates are pretty fast, but there is a shitload of bloat.

Sprint Worldwide, Sprint Zone, NASCAR, you name it? You got it!

Some of the stuff can be disabled, but not all.

Fast updates can make up for bloat for I guess, if the device is expandable.

Depends on the device, some phones will have a lot of bloatware compared to others.

Not going anywhere near Samsung.

So how are HTC and LG?

I really hope the Xperia Z3 coming to Sprint rumors to be true.
